Request bioThe Word of Life / La Borne WA is a grant services company in University Place, Washington, founded by the leadership of The Word of Life Church. We started by funding our own community programs. Now we do the same work for other organizations.

Running programs for French-speaking African families in Pierce County meant learning, the hard way, how funding really works: which funders fit, what a strong application looks like, how to keep records an auditor respects, and how to report so a funder says yes again.
Other churches and community groups began asking for help. The Word of Life / La Borne WA is the company we set up to do that work properly, as a business, separate from the church.
First gathering in Tacoma; food drives and family support begin the same year.
Now held every year, drawing families from across the South Sound.
Six community programs run from 4707 Elwood Dr W.
The same team finds, writes and manages grants for churches, nonprofits, schools and community groups.

We run the grant file and reporting calendar until close-out.
Grant work runs on trust, with funders and with clients. These are written into every agreement.
